Tidied things up a bit

I have been doing some Autumn ( or Fall if in the USA ) cleaning. I have deleted all the members who haven't accessed this site ( or it's predecessor ) within the past 6 months. I shall do this on a regular basis so we get rid of the "old" profiles that were hi-jacked and also members who have decided to move on. So all you have to do is make sure you have accessed your account within the past 26 weeks and all is good in the world.

The Big Move

The big move for me is next week. I'll be moving from Wisconsin to California. It may be a week or more before I'm back online. Fortunately, the site is in capable hands. (Thanks, Sue!)

The server is, too. My good friend Howard from www.30sg.com will be handling the technical end. If you get a chance, check out his very cool website. Howard sells old men's magazines in digital format. Lots of great femdom and other fetish stuff there, very reasonably priced.

Thank you all for re joining this new and much improved site. I have to say Eric is a whizz as it looks and navigates fantastically well. I love it.

Just thought I'd take a minute to plug the OTHER website I've been rebuilding: Vintage Girlie Mags.

Perhaps even more than this site, Vintage Girlie Mags has been my labor of love. I'm fascinated by old men's magazines, and I appreciate the style of the 1960's mags. No cameras up a woman's private parts back then, just topless pictures and a lot of high heels.

I've been putting as much work into Vintage Girlie Mags as I have here; maybe even more so. There's magazines to download, a "Matrix" of magazine covers, and a gallery that uses the new Gallery3. Gallery3 is still in beta, so we won't be changing over to it here until it's ready for production. You can see it in action on the VGM site. It's MUCH faster than Gallery2.

The Video Carousel and SmokerGals

Hey, I finally got the carousel of videos working properly! (It's the grey box in the upper left that scrolls through the videos.) It took a little fudging with CSS. (That's about the extent of my CSS prowess: fudging.) :)

The site has actually come out looking better than I had hoped. The video section seems to be popular and looks good, IMHO. I'll probably slow down on changes here at this point and concentrate on rebuilding SmokerGals.Net. It will look suspiciously like this site, at least in the beginning. I thought that the number of visitors on SmokerGals.Net would drop off dramatically once HolderGals was back online, but surprisingly it's taken the hit rather well, so I see no need to discontinue it. The "group" stuff will probably disappear there, since it never really was popular anyway.

Thanks for coming back, everyone, and thanks for all the contributions.

It's Shaping Up Nicely!

Sue has agreed to act as administrator in my absence. Thank you, Sue. It's much appreciated.

I hope that others will add some videos to the site. It's easy to do and will help us build a list of great holder videos. We currently support videos from Dailymotion, Google, MetaCafe, Veoh, Vimeo, and YouTube. Please note that, at least as far as Veoh and Dailymotion are concerned, if you have to log in or confirm that you're an adult, the video won't load properly. Sorry about that, but it's the limitation of the software.

New Feature: Videos!

While working on the new site here, I came across a nice little module that allows you to embed videos into Drupal. To be honest, the option has always been there, but it's not been easy for users to add the videos. This new module seems to correct this problem.

The way it works is that the video has to already exist on Youtube. (More sites besides Youtube can be used, and I'll add them as I learn more about the module.) When you create a Video Page here, it will ask for the Youtube URL. Do that and voila, the video is embedded in the page here! We have our own rating and comment systems here, so we essentially have a crude version of Youtube built into the site. I may even be able to make it look suspiciously like Youtube, so let's see what happens. If you'd like to add a video from Youtube here, click on "Create Content" and choose "Video Page". I'll add features as I can.

There are a number of reasons for this, and they're outlined in a message on SmokerGals.Net. Sufficed to say that I am moving quickly.
