It seems that main gallery module picks sorts the pictures using the date/time from the EXIF if it's present. This leads to the following problem: the last photo uploaded currently is the one with caption 1068 (http://www.holdergals.net/index.php?q=gallery&g2_itemId=31446). It appears as 'Newest Image' in the sidebar on the left side and in the topleft corner of the 'Latest Images' block at the bottom of the page. However, after clicking on the thumbnail and then going back to 'Small Contributions' it turns out that the picture was placed at page 104 - because it has Nov. 11, 2008 in the EXIF.

This is the problem, because it's quite possible that many of the uploaded pictures will land somewhere in the middle of gallery folder - if they're not in the last 9 pictures uploaded then nobody will know they exist.

Is it possible to change the default sort for gallery folders to the one using file upload date? This will keep the folders and newest/latest images block in sync. Also, it'll be easy to view most recently added pics from the gallery.
