I may have the permissions wrong. If so, I apologize.

But on the main menu, I set up a link that says "Add A Gallery". I can see it. I have a separate account that's not an admin account and I can see it there too. Yet people are asking how to add a gallery. Is the link invisible to people? Seriously, please let me know.

I did a test upgrade this morning and everything went so smoothly that I decided to just bite the bullet and switch over to the test site! The only thing that didn't make it over was the Video pages. That's because they use a CCK field format that's not supported in Drupal 7. No big deal, because Youtube linking is supported in the new Media Gallery.

The new system works by allowing users to create their own galleries. That was the original intent of Holdergals, with the "Small Contributions" album intended for people who just wanted to add one or two images without me having to create an album for them. With the new system, your album (called a "gallery" here) is creating automatically when you upload an image. Less work on both our ends.

Anyway, everything besides the video pages made it over, so kick the tires and let me know if you find any issues.

I'll be adding the original Gallery2 gallery later, then start migrating the images over to new Media Galleries here.

I'm planning to upgrade this website from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7. That's not as easy as you might think. A lot can go wrong, but I know that Drupal 6 is getting a bit long in the tooth.

So I'm working with Drupal 7 on http://www.smokergals.net. Smokergals is like this site, but includes images of cigarettes, cigars, cigarette holders, etc. And it looks pretty nice on the new software. So if you'd like to get in on the ground floor, pop on over and join. It should be fun!

First of all, let me thank Sue for her hard work here. If not for her, the site would have sputtered away and her efforts are ALWAYS appreciated.

Now, thank you to those who responded to my message about the latency issue. I've managed to convince the server host that a new server is needed and they will be setting one up for me at a different data center, either tonight or tomorrow. That means moving all the data again and I apologize for the slow performance here.
